How to Use Classroom Projection: Epson

Most of the classrooms on campus have Epson Brightlink Projectors with interactivity. This means there is a projected image on a whiteboard or a wall with ideapaint.

Power on the projector

Press the Projector button to turn on the projector. If the indicator light is orange, the projector is asleep and you will need to press it once to wake it up (the light will turn blue), wait a few seconds and press it again to turn it on.

Managing the Audio Volume

You can manage the volume of the projector by using the volume knob on the Pilot. If you have any issues with audio in the classroom, please refer to this troubleshooting guide.

If you have issues with the projection system:

  1. Ensure that the cable is connected to the HDMI port on the Pilot box and the correct adapter is plugged into your computer.
  2. Ensure the Pilot has power (status light would be on and blue or orange)

If you have issues with the Poly or Apple TV

Please look at the documentation for Polycom, Airplay (Mac), and Airplay (iOS) for further information.

If you’ve gone through all of these steps and you are unable to project, please submit a helpdesk ticket by going to or emailing  You may also dial TECH (8324) on your classroom phone to call the tech office.
